The Work Behind the Silence

I was born in Iran and raised between two worlds — the beauty and weight of Persian culture, and the openness of American life. That tension lives in everything I paint.

My women are not decorative. They are strong, grounded, and unsilenceable. They stand at thresholds, turn away from the viewer, wrap themselves in fabric that moves like breath. They carry something that cannot be taken from them.

I work in acrylics, in layers, building atmosphere before I build form. My subjects range from figurative work and dance to wine country still lifes and atmospheric florals — but the emotional core never changes. I am always painting the same thing: what survives, what remembers, and what refuses to be quiet.

I paint from my studios in Calistoga and Rancho Mirage. My originals, hand-embellished giclées, and wearable art are available through my Etsy shop and directly through this site.
